OCTOBER 31, 2008 >> ANOTHER HIATUS.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

So... I have to go on a Hiatus from my fansites until around December. I am loaded with schoolwork that has to be done--and, actually, I probably even shouldn't be on the internet right now because of that, but I really need to post a message concerning my absence. I am deeply sorry for taking another Hiatus so soon, but this school semester has been killing me with work to do outside of school. >.<

Not much else to say. I have a MAJOR test on Macbeth that is due Monday, which I have to start on for English class now, so yeah. D= And then I should be starting on an Economics project. And then preparing for more English research papers, essays, etc. I will be doing this all throughout November and part of December.

Expect me to be back to updating the site around the first week of December. If there is any major news concerning David Cook that should be posted, then I will post it over at the forum community.

Should be all for now,

-- Chelsea.

OCTOBER 31, 2008 >> DAVID ON LIFE AFTER AMERICAN IDOL.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: People

He has throngs of devoted fans and will soon be releasing an album, but David Cook says his life now isn't too different than it was before winning American Idol.

"I think in one sense everything's changed but in another sense nothing has," says the reigning Idol champ. "There's all these different things around me that I didn't have a year ago. I was able to furnish a home and get a nice car and be able to treat my family to some of the things that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to do."

But, says the singer, 25, "I'm still a goober from the Midwest. Now I've just got a few more resources. I don't feel like the show changed me at all."

Cook spoke with PEOPLE after recording a performance video with his band for Walmart's Soundchecks, which can be viewed online and in Walmart stores. (Watch a preview video below.)

The singer, who will release his self-titled debut album Nov. 18, describes his music as "eclectic rock" with some songs featuring lots of riffs and others that are "very piano driven and delicate."

"I got to show some different aspects of who I am as a person," he says about the upcoming album.

Cook's next gig: performing on this week's Saturday Night Live hosted by Ben Affleck. "I grew up watching it like everybody else so to be apart of it in any capacity is obviously a huge honor," he says, before adding that he's "really nervous."

"I'm going to make sure my shoelaces are tied so I don’t trip and fall on the floor!"

OCTOBER 31, 2008 >> DAVID REACTS TO JENNIFER HUDSON'S TRAGEDY.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: ET

ET was exclusively with David Cook on Wednesday for the taping of his AOL Music Sessions in NYC. The reigning "American Idol" champ talked about his new record, performing on "SNL" this weekend, and reacted to former "Idol" contender Jennifer Hudson's family tragedy.

"My heart goes out to her," David says of Jennifer. "I just earnestly hope that she could find some sort of resolution to it somewhere down the line."

David's AOL Sessions premiere on AOL Music Nov. 28.

You can view a short video on David's reaction by going here. David also quickly talks about his AOL Sessions and Saturday Night Live in the video.

OCTOBER 23, 2008 >> DAVID CRAFTS HEAVIEST "AMERICAN IDOL" ALBUM YET.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: Rolling Stone

"During the show, I enjoyed messing with people's expectations," says David Cook. "The show," of course, is American Idol; in May, Cook was the winner of its seventh season. "I'm not trying to surprise people now: I'm putting out a rock record. I just want the songs to kick you in the teeth or make you want to cry — or do something drastic, like jump off a building. I want somebody to be exhausted when they're done listening."

Making an album like that is a tall order under any circumstances — but Cook also spent the summer on the grueling American Idol arena tour. With his record scheduled for release on November 18th, that gave him only one uninterrupted month in the studio. So while Green Day producer Rob Cavallo assembled tracks, Cook checked in from the road. "A lot of it was done via e-mail and telephone calls," says the genial Cook. "I was face to face with Rob maybe five times before I got off the tour, and I had to bare my soul to this guy. But you can't expect anybody else to invest themselves emotionally in a record if you can't do it yourself. It was really scary — the best analogy I can come up with is that it was like taking off your clothes in church."

Cook is slumped on a couch in Cavallo's home studio in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. There are at least seven Macintosh laptops in the room. On his computer, Cook is alternately playing Spore, looking up information on the Scottish band Mogwai and checking the Internet reaction to his single "Light On," which is already in the Top Five on the iTunes charts. (The power ballad was co-written by Chris Cornell and hard-rock hitmaker Brian Howes; Cook squeezes the tune for every possible ounce of drama.) But then it's time to listen to a mix of Cook's song "Breathe Right" — an epic guitar-driven rocker evocative of the Foo Fighters. Cook sits up straight, attentive to every detail.

"Is there a keyboard playing the chords under the verse?" Cook asks. "Will it sound thin if we take it out?"

"It'll sound thicker," Cavallo assures him. "We can make it dirty."

"Rub some dirt on it, walk it off," Cook jokes. "Let's take it out. It's a riff rocker. Sold."

Cook wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on the record, drawing on both recent collaborations with songwriting pros and tunes he wrote in his pre-Idol bartending days. (His old guitarist actually plays on the album.) A preview of eight tracks suggests that listeners can expect radio-ready anthems like the sweeping, U2-esque "Come Back to Me," some aggro rockers like "Bar Bi Sol" and plenty of the soaring voice that the AI judges loved. "There's a million different ways to write a song," says Cook. "This is a brand-new game for me: I'm 25 years old, going on infancy."

OCTOBER 20, 2008 >> DAVID TALKS ABOUT THE "LIGHT ON" VIDEO.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: MTV

If David Cook has learned anything on his whirlwind trip from obscurity to "American Idol" celebrity, it's that, sometimes, it's best to just sit back and enjoy the ride. Which probably explains why — despite the fact that he's standing on a deserted football field on a rather frigid (well, at least for Los Angeles) Thursday night in October — he's still got a mile-wide grin on his face.

He's here to shoot the video for "Light On," the first single from his self-titled album, which hits stores November 18. And though he realizes the video is a fairly big deal (it's directed by Wayne Isham, the guy behind Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Britney Spears' "Piece of Me"), Cook will freely admit that he's rather starstruck by the entire process. Which is odd, considering he's the star.

"We did the first run-through, and I felt real timid because, obviously, I don't have any experience. It's not like I grew up shooting music videos," he laughed. "It's weird, man. Little things keep happening along the way that drive the point home that I'm doing something that's both insane and really fulfilling, and this is one of those things. To be able to shoot a music video is kind of rad — especially something on this scale. So, you know, I hope I don't blow it."

We suspect he's just being modest, because when MTV News was on set — er, field — at L.A. Valley College last Thursday (October 16), Cook looked every bit the pro, rocking out on the 50-yard line and joking with Isham, all while giving off an approachable, decidedly everyman aura. But that's just the way he's wired.

OCTOBER 17, 2008 >> DAVID TO APPEAR ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: thecelebritycafe.com

He’ll be the fourth contestant of the reality show to appear.

David Cook, the winner of the latest season of American Idol (Season 7), will support his new album by appearing on NBC's Saturday Night Live on Nov. 1.

It marks a milestone of sorts for Cook. He'll be the first "Idol" to appear on the show immediately upon the release of his debut album, and considering that this is the final episode of the show before the November 4 election, then he should get quite the audience.

Three "Idols" had previously appeared on the show as musical guests. Clay Aiken and Carrie Underwood appeared when their debut albums had been out for several months, and Kelly Clarkson came on the live sketch comedy show to support her second album.

Cook's debut was co-produced by Chris Cornell, former member of Soundgarden and Audioslave. It will come out on November 18.

On SNL, he will perform the first single, "Light On," which will be the first televised performance of the song and the first televised performance with Cook and his new band.

OCTOBER 4, 2008 >> BACK.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

So I am finally back from my Hiatus. I have no clue for how long, but I am back for a good two-three more weeks to a month. It all depends when my teachers throw more major projects, reports, etc. my way. ><;

So... I finally got David Cook Online's YouTube Channel done! There are still more videos to be added, but you can view the channel by going here!

And you know the official David Cook site? Well, I *finally* signed up and am finally able to post. I would've been doing this long ago, but school has been sucking my free time away when it comes to chatting on message boards and whatnot. ;-; My username over there is x3_Chelsea for those interested.

Oh, and David Cook's newest single Light On is insanely awesome. I haven't been able to stop listening to it. xDD It is amazing. I am dying for the CD to release... Ohh--November 18 will take ages to get here. >.>

...Sorry for the short update. :x I will be working on adding images to the gallery over the next few days, as well as graphics. <3 So, stay tuned!

SEPTEMBER 2, 2008 >> HIATUS.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Yes. I am afraid that I will have to go on a Hiatus from all of my fan-sites until around October due to school. I have two Government projects that need to be done by the end of this month, along with a few major English assignments. Things should die down safely enough by early October so that I can return to my sites.

When I return, I hope to have the David Cook Online Youtube channel up. I already started on it, and am currently in the process of uploading videos to it--which I am doing while also working on my projects. xD After the Youtube channel is open... then I don't know. Haven't thought that far ahead yet. xP I will probably work on more signatures and avatars. <3

Anyhow, I will not be totally dead--I will still be active on message boards, email, instant messenger, deviantART, etc. There just will not be any major updates on my actual fan-sites. I will still post any major news concerning David Cook over at the message board, so continue to check over there for that.

I guess that is all for now. Dx
Until next time--
Chelsea.

AUGUST 23, 2008 >> DAVID SHOWS OFF NEW TATTOO.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: MyFox Kansas City

American Idol David Cook showed off a new tattoo on the inside of his wrist on Larry King Live Thursday night. It's an eye, and he said it represented the last year for him.

Cook is originally from Blue Springs, Missouri. He went from being a bartender in Tulsa to a star on tour when he won the American Idol crown.

He recently wrote a blog on his web site where he mentioned the strain of touring, and putting an album together along with all the group's other media commitments.

The entire tour of singers joined Larry King on his CNN talk show Thursday night. They'll be in Kansas City at the Sprint Center August 29 & 30. You can watch the clip by linking to Youtube.

AUGUST 23, 2008 >> DAVID MEETS HIS #1 FAN!

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: Star Magazine

A brave little girl's dream just came true!

As Star exclusively reported in April, while David Cook was singing his way to the Season 7 American Idol championship, he was being cheered on by his biggest fan, 7-year-old Tampa, Fla. native Lindsey Rose Belcher, who's been fighting the good fight against leukemia since last Christmas. And in a show of support, David wore an orange plastic band on his wrist during his televised performances as a personal message of hope to the adorable youngster.

Behind the scenes, David called Lindsey Rose right after his May 21 victory and promised her they would meet in person when the Idol tour made its way to her hometown. That day arrived on Aug. 21, and squeals of delight mingled with tears of joy as big-hearted David, 25, kept his promise to Lindsey Rose, treating her like a little princess during a special day together. "From the moment we arrived, David grabbed Lindsey by the hand and the two were inseparable," her father Charley Belcher, a feature reporter for Fox WTVT Channel 13 in Tampa, tells Star. "They are friends forever."

Pick up the Sept. 8 issue of Star for more exclusive photos of David and Lindsey Rose, and the full, heartwarming story of their storybook meeting!

AUGUST 16, 2008 >> THE DAVIDS DEMONSTRATE "ATHLETIC" ABILITY.

POSTED BY CHELSEA |

Source: MyFox Kansas City

American Idol David Cook recently had his song "Time of My Life" used during NBC's Olympics coverage. But, a fan caught David Cook's gymnastics ability on her cell phone and we're fairly confident that Cook's only contribution to the Olympic games will be his voice.

Cook and David Archuleta did handstands for the crowd before the San Diego concert during this American Idols Live Tour. The Idols tour comes to Kansas City on August 29 & 30.

Archuleta proved a little better than Cook upside down. But, it remains to be seen whose album will top the charts when they're both released this fall.
